Iveco ACCO

Since 1972 the Australian designed and built ACCO has evolved to become one of the most respected medium-heavy duty trucks in Australia. Although it's been around a long time, it hasn't remained static; today's ACCO is even more versatile, efficient and driver friendly. It is more attuned to the special requirements of the Australian market than any other truck. With its numerous configurations, it suits a vast range of applications and continues to be the truck of choice in waste, distributor and agitator applications.

Range: ACCO

  • The Iveco ACCO is available in 4x2, 6x4 and 8x4
  • The Cummins ISC engine offers the choice of three power ratings, from 260hp to 315hp

Cabs:

  • The 2.2-metre, walk-through ACCO cab is wide and spacious
  • Easy engine access via a hydraulic lift and latch
  • A four-point mounting system with rubber blocks at the front and air springs with dampers at the rear to help isolate road shock
  • Further damping is provided by the standard ISRI suspension seat
  • Standard power steering, cruise control and comprehensive instrumentation make the driver's work easy
  • Comfort is assured with air-conditioning, power windows and an AM/FM radio with CD player.
  • The ACCO is available with dual controls as required in many waste-collecting applications.

Driveline:

  • The range of transmission choices, in constant-mesh or automatic form, is comprehensive, reflecting its versatility
  • The Cummins ISC engine can be specified in any of three power ratings.

Gearbox:

  • The wide range of transmission choices spans Eaton constant-mesh in 9, 10, 11 and 13-speed form
  • Or choose five or six-speed Allison automatic transmissions mainly intended for compactor use.

Axles:

  • The ACCO offers a wide choice of Meritor rear axles with ratings ranging from 10.4 tonnes to 18.1 tonnes.
  • Where circumstances require, the ACCO offers optional driver-controlled differential locks

Frame/suspension:

  • The Australian designed and built ACCO chassis is famous for its toughness, its low tare weight and its durability.
  • This comes from things like the high tensile steel frame rails, and the fact that the chassis is bolted, with flange-headed bolts, rather than riveted.
  • Double-sided, zinc-coated steel is also used on the floor and all exposed cab panels.
  • The ACCO demonstrates its vast range of possibilities with rear suspension options that include Hendrickson air suspension, rubber springs or Iveco three-rod leaf springs, with capacities ranging from nine tonnes to 18.1 tonnes.
  • ACCO is also available with Airtek front air suspension for an even smoother ride.

Braking system:

  • The ACCO's braking system ensures performance capabilities that are in keeping with operational circumstances.
  • The dual air braking system uses Meritor Q-Plus 419mm drum brakes measuring 178mm wide at the rear and 152mm at the front

Engine:

  • The ACCO's 8.3-litre six-cylinder Cummins ISC common-rail direct-injection turbocharged engine is recognised for its high torque outputs.
  • It can be specified in 260hp, 285hp and 315hp ratings.
  • The torque of 1085Nm in 260hp and 285hp versions, and 1288Nm in 315hp versions ensures the ACCO is up to any task it is confronted with.
