Range:Stralis

  • The Iveco Stralis offers three distinctively different models that embrace everything from urban distribution to long-distance interstate applications.
  • The Active Day and Active Time share a 2.3-metre, aerodynamically styled and luxuriously equipped cab
  • The Active Space has a 2.5-metre cab with premium-level space and comfort.
  • Stralis cabs are spacious and supremely comfortable, with driver-friendly design that maximises safety and minimises fatigue

 

Active day:

  • The Stralis Active Day brings maximum payload capabilities along with new levels of comfort, efficiency and reliability to the Australian urban distribution market.
  • The 2.3-metre cab is designed with safe practicality in mind, from the deflectors that keep mud and grime away from mirrors and side windows, to the easy-grip grab-handles and the big, non-slip steps.
  • Workman like and luxurious driving environment is provided with the wide, spacious interior with its wrap around dash.
  • Outstanding flexibility and low emissions, along with maximum efficiency are delivered with The Cursor 8, Cursor 10 and Cursor 13 engines combined with the EuroTronic II electronically automated transmission.

 

Active time:

  • The Stralis Active Time is available with a low or medium-roof 2.3-metre sleeper cab and is suitable for medium or long haul duty.
  • High levels of safety, a driver-friendly environment and outstanding interior space are offered with  the functional, aerodynamic cab.
  • The cab suspension was designed specifically for Australian conditions, and driver comfort is supported with the ISRI suspension driver's seat.
  • The powerful and flexible Cursor 8, Cursor 10 and Cursor 13 engines combine with EuroTronic II electronically automated transmission to ensure maximum versatility.

 

Active space:

  • With long-distance travel in single, or two-up operations in mind, the Stralis Active Space offers premium levels of comfort and space with a full-height sleeper cab almost 2.5 metres wide.
  • The fully appointed interior with its ergonomically placed controls and easy-to-read, wraparound dash is designed for supremely comfortable, safe long-haul work.
  • The efficiency of the powerful new generation Cursor 13 engine, working in conjunction with Iveco's EuroTronic II automated constant mesh transmission, results in an ability to minimise operating costs.
  • Stralis Active Space comes with twin rectangular alloy tanks providing a total fuel capacity of 1000 litres, with the option of extending to 1300 litres.

 

Cabs:

  • Time in the wind-tunnel has resulted in a cab that slips through the air easily, effectively channels mud and road grime away from the side windows, mirrors, and steps.
  • A fatigue-free driving position is achieved with the fully adjustable steering wheel and latest-generation ISRI suspension seat.
  • Four-point cab suspension developed specifically for Australian conditions assists with fatigue also.

 

Driveline:

  • The latest in driveline technology is offered on all Stralis models with the combination of Iveco's powerful and highly efficient Cursor engines and the smooth EuroTronic II automated constant mesh transmission.

 

Gearbox:

  • All Stralis models utilise Iveco's acclaimed EuroTronic II automated constant mesh transmission, in either 12-speed direct drive or overdrive form, or in overdrive 16-speed form.
  • EuroTronic II is electronically controlled, so it gives perfect gearshifts every time, maximising economy and performance.
  • The driver can manually select gears with the EuroTronic II if desired.
  • The Australian market has proven these gearboxes to be extremely robust and have set an industry benchmark.

Axles:

  • The Stralis is available in 4x2, 6x2, 6x4 and 8x4 axle configurations.
  • All Stralis models use Meritor rear axles with driver-controlled differential locks and capacity ratings of at least 20.9 tonnes.
  • Stralis 6x4 models use the European Meritor MT23-155 axles
  • 8x4 models use the American MT46-160 axles

 

Suspension

  • A medium tensile steel chassis withstands the tough Australian operating environment.
  • All 4x2, 6x2 and 6x4 configurations use versions of the Iveco electronically controlled air suspensions.
  • All suspensions have 4 air bags per axle and come with anti sway bars to maintain the perfect ride height, comfort and stability.
  • 8x4 configurations use 20.9-tonne Hendrickson Primaax rear air suspension.

 

Braking:

  • Knorr disc brakes and ABS are standard on all models except on the rear of the 8x4 models, which offers the choice of Meritor S-cam or Knorr disc brakes.

 

Engine:

  • Stralis offers a wide range of driveline combinations to allow each truck to be tailored to meet individual requirements.
  • Active Day and Active Time Stralis models offer the choice of Cursor 8, Cursor 10 or Cursor 13 engines with power figures ranging from 360hp to 450hp
  • Active Space comes with a 500hp or 560hp Cursor engine delivering 2495Nm of torque.

 

Selective Catalytic Reduction is the technology that Iveco has chosen to meet the EURO 4 and EURO 5 emissions standards across its range of Stralis, Powerstar and Eurocargo models. Based on AdBlue, SCR represents the technology of the future. The SCR system not only cleans the exhaust emission as required by law, but also improves the performance of the vehicle, whatever the conditions, by cutting maintenance costs, as well as increasing the power and life cycle of the engine and by reducing fuel consumption.
